꼭두새벽부터 ‘대피하라’고 울리는 안전 문자,
한밤중에 울리는 북한의 ‘오물 풍선’ 재난 문자.
“불안해서 못 살겠다!”
접경지역 주민들은 이러다 전쟁 날까 두렵다며 불안감을 호소하고 있습니다. 대화채널은 끊기고, 안전핀 역할을 해왔던 9.19 군사합의가 무력화된 상황에서 서로를 자극하는 무력시위와 심리전이 아슬아슬하게 이어지고 있습니다.
정부는 현재의 위기의 원인이 되었던 남한 민간단체의 대북전단 살포에 대해 자제를 요청하거나 단속은 하지 않은 채 대북 확성기 방송 재개, 군사분계선 인근에서의 군사훈련 재개 등 강경 대응책만 내놓고 있습니다.
남북 모두 서로를 자극하는 적대적 언사와 행동을 멈춰야 합니다.
다가오는 7월 27일이면 한국전쟁 정전협정 체결 71년이 됩니다. 매년 이 즈음이 되면 끝나지 않은 전쟁을 실감합니다.
다시 평화의 길을 만들기 위해 평화를 이야기하고 함께 행동해요! 인증샷으로 평화의 목소리를 높이길 기대합니다.

‘Evacuation’ alert ringing at dawn.
Emergency text message alerting about balloons presumed to be coming from North Korea in the middle of the night.
"I can't live with anxiety!"
Residents along the border are complaining of anxiety, saying they fear it could be a war. The channels of dialogue between South and North Korea have been completely cut off, and the inter-Korean military agreement, which used to serve as a safety pin, is no longer in force, leading to mutually provocative demonstrations and psychological warfare.
The ROK government has not asked South Korean civilian organizations to restrict the distribution of anti-North Korea leaflets Korea or cracked down on them, which has contributed to the current crisis, but has instead taken hardline measures such as resuming loudspeaker broadcasts to North Korea and resuming military exercises near the Demilitarized Zone.
Both South and North Korea must stop the hostile rhetoric and actions that threaten each other.
This coming July 27 marks the 71st anniversary of the signing of the Korean War Armistice. Every year around this time, we are reminded of the war that never ended.
Let's talk peace and act together to create a path to peace again! Join the Korea Peace Action Day on July 27th. Please send your photo to amplify the voices for peace on the Korean Peninsula!
