As a Korean people we understand what colonization and occupation looks and feels like in our history, bodies, lives, and manifests in the separation from our northern families and immigration of families like mine. We should understand that carpet bombing a people the way Israel is doing to Palestinians today is the same as the carpet bombing of Korea by the US. We must cut all ties with Israel and end the supply of all weapons. If not genocide and the blood of Palestinians is on our hands as well.

Why are we as South Korea not focusing on repairing relations with our own kin instead of supporting and funding the destruction of Gaza? As a Korean in the diaspora I find this incredibly shameful, especially given our own history of brutal colonization by Japan. We as Koreans deserve better and deserve to do better.
